my body double

I have a dress form! A friend of mine from Church, Jenn-Lee, moved to Utah last week and had no room for this dress form. Knowing how much I love to sew she kindly gave it to me. I am SO excited! I have wanted one for years. I even contemplated making my own dress form. Now I don't have to. I can't wait to use it. Thanks Jenn-Lee!

awesome! I had a friend in college who had her own form. She'd adjusted it to be exactly her size from the bust to the rear and made herself all sorts of custom clothes. I think she had also given her a catchy name, but I don't recall what it was :)

So you can adjust the dress form to be a certain size? That is awesome!!

OOOOH OOOOH OOOOH! I have wanted one FOREVER. You are going to make such cool things with it. It definitely needs a name. Marin, as in maybe Erin?

Congrats!

yes, the dress form is adjustable, the bust, waist, hips and height all adjust. it is SO cool!

she definitely needs a name, I am thinking I will call her Jenn-Lee (probably JL for short) in honor of Jenn-Lee. though i really like the maybe Erin "Marin" idea Jenn Benn.

What a score!!! Those can be very expensive. Who knows, I might need one someday but for now I'm focusing on sewing various things square shaped :)

I'm jealous!! I have wanted a dress form for ages. Oh, and your project with the play kitchen left me speechless. AMAZING job!

Ooh, I'm so jealous! You are going to have so much fun with that!

I'm madly in love with your couch in the background, by the way. It looks pretty awesome.

thanks Melissa. I'm in love with that couch too! It is straight out of the 50's! I bought it (and a matching chair) earlier this year for $100. the couch even folds down (sort of futon style) to a bed. Even though the original material is in perfect condition my goal is to someday reupholster the couch.

The few things I have made for myself without that did not fit well. But now that I got one I have much more confidence spending time and money on fabric and knowing that it will pretty much fit! YAY. You will do so well with that. Can't wait to see your creations.
