this weeks thrifty finds

Some weeks I find nothing at the thrift stores. Other weeks I find several great things. This was one of the good weeks!

A couple of years ago my sister-in-law bought an awesome white lamp that I totally coveted. I finally found one almost identical to hers! It was only $4.99! I love the shape. I put it in my bedroom replacing the yellow lamp. I was ready for a change so this lamp came at the perfect time!

This $1 box caught my eye. I love the colors and flatware design inside.

At first sight, I wasn't interested in the recipes and cards inside but after flipping through them some of the recipes look really good and the dividers have helpful information like this place setting guide. Plus the cards have a nice clean design with great colors. I couldn't find a name on the box or cards but it looks like something Real Simple would have produced.

-Three wreath forms (I gave one to my sister-in-law Laura. She is going to make this super cute wreath!) $0.50 for the large one and $.025 for the small wreaths.
-I love these vintage red satin Christmas balls- eight for $.025. I am hoping to find more of these before we get a tree.
-The gold sparkle star was a 'splurge' at $1.99 but I really liked it.
-I am hoping that my old friend spray paint will help me transform this sad little tree ($0.99) into a glossy beauty like this.

Last, and one of my favorites, I found these adorable shoes for Ezra. He has very wide, chubby feet and it is almost impossible to find shoes that fit. These shoes give him plenty of room and they were $1.50 and in unworn condition!

Total: $11.72. Not too shabby! Have you thrifted anything great lately?

congrats on your lamp. maybe you'll have better luck keeping it since you won't have rambunctious dogs to knock it over! :)
can't wait to see what you do with the decorations!

you are amazing! I wish I had good thrift stores! I did find 2 deals at Anthropologie - a Vappu Dress for $9.95 (reg. $98) and the Amphitrite Cardigan for $29 (reg. $128)! I am longing for your Herman Miller chair deal! And just so you know, my husband and I are using your livingroom as an exact pattern for ours!! Our remodel should be done soon!

I need to start blogging about some of my thrifting finds, it's fun to see what I've collected! I just found a BRAND new Pampered Chef muffin stoneware for $10....yep a little pricier item but a brand new one from the catalog is $40. I found a great retro red suitcase that I'm going to fill with fabric, ribbon, thread, needles, scissors, tape measure, ect for my 7 y/o for Christmas! She's gonna die! 3 brand new Abercrombie and Fitch long sleeves shirts for a friends boys. A pair of grey cords for my hubby for $5. 2 unopened packages of gnome Xmas cards. Oh the list is endless! Such a fun thing to do!! OH and some great vintage sheets which just got put to good use! Made a "Soule Mama" beach throw for my little sister's 30th birthday!

Love all of your finds....you've got the eye for it!

Stopped by Good Will today - no great finds - everything looked like junk to me! You must have a great thrift store or just a more creative eye! :)

Thrift stores are so hit and miss! Some days are great and some days...well, you wonder! My last trip I found a great glass jar to keep laundry soap in and several sweaters to felt for mitts (just posted pics on my blog). I love the recipe card box, that was a steal!

i'm assuming you find all of these great things in the charlotte area - but where!? care to share your secret? :)

@artfulabode- I did find all these in the Charlotte area! I shop at the Matthews Salvation Army the most but I often go to Monroe Salvation Army, Matthews Goodwill, Matthews Habitat for Humanity ReStore and Monroe Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I have been to the Salvation Army on Central Avenue a couple of times and the Restore on Wendover (I think that is the street) but not as often as I would like.

That lamp is amazing! I've been on the hunt for something similar for Penelope's Liberty of London shade & settled for a Walmart lamp instead. I've been thinking of making wreaths lately so I'm totally heading to the thrift store now & looking for some styrofoam wreaths!
