valentines 2011

We are ready for Valentines Day!

A lot of the same decorations from last year.

I made the "LOVE" banner February '09 but I still really... wait for it... love it!

Same with the puffy heart garland (which I just realized is totally crooked. Ez keeps pulling on it. I'm lucky he hasn't broken it!) The wreath is new this year. As are the apothecary jars holding m&m's (don't expect those to hang around long!) and decorative red balls.

Also new are these cute hearts. Idea from Martha. I thought they would be a fun project with the kids... not so much. There are lots of steps, many of which they can't help with. They got bored quickly and disappeared upstairs to play.

But the kids are quite taken with the finished product.

Honestly, so am I! They look so pretty in the sunshine.

Happy {early} VALENTINES DAY to you!

I love your banner, too, and I think I have just enough red felt to make one. And those crayon hearts would look awesome in our front window. Thanks for the inspiration Erin!

Everything is so pretty! I love that heart garland--it kinda looks like they are hanging by individual strings at varying heights. Very pretty!

Those hearts are beautiful!!! And I just read about your late baby. Ah, slacker babies. I had one myself (only 8 days mind you). I shall pray that you can go into labour naturally. I haven't been induced, but I hear it is the pits.

Can't wait to see baby pictures!

much love: K

I made a similar craft with crayon shavings and wax paper only it was leaves for fall. I thought the kids would have fun with it too until I realized I had to do the shaving of the crayons, the ironing and the cutting too because it was an intricate leaf we were cutting out. So not much for a 2 and 4 year old to help with. But they enjoyed the final product.

I did manage to make a mini LOVE banner and the crayon hearts. I posted them and linked back to this post. Thanks for the inspiration!
