gemma's hair bow

I have had several inquires about Gemma's hair bows seen here, here and here. They are so easy I almost feel silly doing a how-to but your wish is my command! :)

You need: narrow ribbon; I use 1/8" wide, scissors, a tooth pick and corn syrup.

Cut a length of ribbon about 8". Make two loops. Now tie them together. (You know, the bunny runs around the tree and into the hole...). Adjust the loops and tails until it looks even. Clip the tails.

Dip a toothpick into the corn syrup. With the toothpick smear a drop or two of the corn syrup onto the back of the bow and stick it on your baby girls head. Gemma's bows usually stay stuck to her head until I give her a bath. Once one stayed on for three days because I was lazy and didn't bathe her!

I would never have thought to stick something to my baby's head with corn syrup! How clever is this? I shall have to try it! And oh, your little girl is SOOO cute!

She is absolutely a doll. We recently lost our son at 22 weeks pregnant. It has been so difficult to go through the induction and delivery then through the burial. But seeing Gema's smiles so full of life and personality have brightened many of my days. :) Thank you for sharing not only a clever tip but the joy of your family with all of us. They are beautiful.

Love this! I used to use corn syrup on my daughter's head and some of my friends thought I was so weird! It's what my Mom and Aunt's always used so I just thought everyone did it. So glad to see I'm not the only corn syrupy hairbow fan!

You should try Girlie Glue! It is much less messy thatn corn syrup and literally lasts all day! It is all-natural and will hold ANY accessory you can make! Really! I have a one year old that I stick all kinds of fun bows and flowers onto. I get asked "How do you stick that on your baby's head" Every day. Girlie Glue! It is amazing! I'll never go back to corn syrup. Cheap too! less than 5 bucks!

girlieglue.com. i swear by it
