the halls are decked!

(they have been for several days actually but I had to tidy the house enough so I wouldn't be embarrassed to take pictures!)

Don't you just love how the bottom 1/3 of the tree is empty? Ah, life with a toddler.

Normally I rearrange all the ornaments after my kids "decorate" the tree but I couldn't do it this year... they were so proud of their work. Every time I look at the tree I smile and cringe at the same time.

My handmade wreath, circle felt garland, and stockings (from Kohls 4 years ago).

Mini bunting. I had so much fun making this. I LOVE it. It's so cheery. (Inspiration) The art gallery has been cleared to make room for the holiday artwork and to display Christmas cards.

Even the kitchen window gets festive!

The foyer and dining room

More bunting and a table runner made from a hand-me-down maternity dress.

The Santa on the sideboard was painted by my Grandmother in 1986. Not my usual style but I love it because it reminds me of her.

I am linking up to The Nester Tour of Homes, Hooked on Houses House Tour 2009 and The Inspired Room.

I think it looks nice - I especially love your dot garland!

i really love that felt garland as well. why are those little pennants called "bunting"? when i think of bunting, i think of a baby bunting, which obviously has NOTHING to do with this kind of bunting!

good thing we already have tickets because we'd be coming anyway just to hang out in such a wonderful home! Can't wait to get there!

How pretty! Your home looks like something out of a magazine. I love it!

I'm cracking up at all the Christmas balls wadded up on the one branch. That is my tree as well. I had to let it go and accept that our tree not be winning any prizes while the kids are in charge.

And, I have to show my family your stockings so I can say, "See! Told you so." I used to have all matching stockings, but they beat me down that every one had to have a different stocking. I finally caved last year. :(

Our tree is very similar. No ornaments on the bottom part of the tree (because of the puppy) and one branch has like five ornaments on it because our son helped to decorate it!

thanks everybody!

Alison- I wish you could come hang out at my house!

Mer- I have no idea why they call them buntings. Seems wrong to me too!

Mom & Dad- counting down the days...

La- shucks, thanks!

Kim- I don't think I will be able to get away with matching stockings for too much longer. As seen with the tree, the kids are slowly taking over the decor!

We put ornaments all over our tree...and are slowly moving them upwards, out of reach. This is even with an ugly gray "corral" type thing protecting it.
I love the buntings, and if I can ever find a few spare moments I'd love to copy that look!

Everything is just beautiful, you have a lovely home. Love your tree and how the bottom is naked. We'll have to do that next year when my little one is toddling around. Your garland is cute too. Thanks for sharing.
Merry Christmas!

I love your simplistic approach! Your home is so warm! I am trying to become more of a minimalist, but I've worried about my home not feeling warm and comfortable. Your home shows me that both is possible!
The tree is priceless, good for you to resist the urge to fix! I'm going to do that next year to our memory tree.

your house is SO festive and beautiful. I love what you did with the old Maternity dress, it makes me chuckle a bit.

Did you ever get the idea to burn all of your maternity clothes after you were pregnant? This is a much better alternative.

I love your garland on your mantel. Did you make that?
