monogrammed coin purses

I made these little coin purses for my nieces that live in Alabama- Eliza, Sarah Abbigail and Leah (Sarah Abbigail goes by Sarah or Abbie so her purse has an "a" on one side and an "s" on the other).

The coin purses are very easy to make. They are similar to these only smaller- about about 3.5"x5.5". I used scraps left over from other projects and zippers I already had on hand.

The girls were very excited about the purses. They gave me lots of hugs said "Thank you Aunt Erin" several times in their cute southern accents. I love those sweet girls!

They are super cute! I need to get better at sewing in zippers so I can make something like this. I usually substitute zippers for velcro in the projects that I've done so far. :) (Only halloween costumes, so not so serious)

Thanks Jess!

Rachel- zippers aren't as scary as they seem. Promise!

Kelly- i have been thinking about it for about three years! why haven't I? fear of failure, I think.

Nice try Mom. You know the need I have to create is your fault! :)

Thanks Patti!!

Oh, those are adorable! I have lots of little girls who would love those. Any chance you'll post a tutorial if you're not going to open an Etsy shop?

What a great idea! If your neices are like any of the little girls I know, those coin purses will find themselves as homes to a wide variety of treasures.

So cute and so brave I tend to by-pass things with zippers. Thanks for posting to Made it Monday! Jules
