puppet theater in a bag

I did not intend to take such a long blogging break! We have been having so much fun spending time with family, I just haven't taken time to post. My parents were here for a week and now Michael's sister and her family are here. Everyone is off playing together but I took the morning off to let Ezra nap so I thought I would pop in here and show you the puppet theater I made for the kids for Christmas. I got the idea from my friend Meredith.

The theater is made with two extendable tension rods. It fits perfectly in a doorway but will also works well in the hallways (around 38" wide).

Freezer paper stenciled marquee.

Ahh, puppet violence. Liam had Sutton rolling with laughter with his play.

We bought the animal puppets about 5 years ago at the post-Christmas sales at Restoration Hardware.

They love it!

The theater and puppets all fit nice and tidy in a canvas bag. I love that!

and... a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you!!

What a fun idea. I also love that you made a way to put everything away when finished. Very cool.

cute idea! and aren't you smart for having a bag to store it in when you want to take it down.

I'm in the middle of a doorway puppet theater right now...I can't *quite* get it how my mind sees it. Yours is great!

I love that you guys still use those puppets we found when you first moved here! This looks like a lot of fun. I'm thinking the family talent show could have benefited from a puppet segment. Maybe next year? :)

That's adorable. We had puppets forever but without a theater nobody was really interested. Behind the couch shows lost their appeal quickly. They'd probably be ALL over it if we had one of these.

This is so cute and so easy and I love the portable part and how easy it would be to store under a bed! So cute!!!

thats a great idea! and i had an idea similar to use for a hamper but using a leg of a stained pair of jeans as the hamper. a long narrow hamper that can fit in my bathroom!

i love the compactness and non bulkyness that this is. it can be used in so many different ways. ill add a loop and make a couple and hang them in my sons closet! thanks again (and again!)
